Prior to the upgrade, the MiDesktop Support Team will disable desktop pools to safely update the infrastructure. There is no operational impact to the desktop pools after the MiDesktop Support Team enables them post-upgrade.

8/12/18 6:00a - We were unable to complete scheduled maintenance, all changes have been rolled back. It is not necessary for desktop admins to recompose their pool at this time.

During the maintenance period, users will be unable to use the MiDesktop service. Desktop admins will, however, still be able to log into vcenter.midesktop.it.umich.edu to administer their base images.

After the View upgrade is complete desktop admins must update VMware tools and the Horizon View Agent on their base images, then take a new snapshot and recompose their pools. The View agent must be 6.2.6 (or higher if you are already using a higher version). If you are already using View agent 6.2.6 or higher, you only need to recompose your pool. This process ensures your pool is operating at the updated version of Horizon View. You may download the VMware tools and Horizon View agent from the MiDesktop downloads site.
