Prior to the upgrade, the MiDesktop Support Team will disable desktop pools to safely update the infrastructure. There is no operational impact to the desktop pools after the MiDesktop Support Team enables them post-upgrade.

MiDesktop will be upgrading the Horizon View environment that runs MiDesktop. During the maintenance period, desktop pools will need to be disabled. After the upgrade, VDI pool admins will need to create a new snapshot of their base images and recompose their pools.

Upgrade is occurring as a result of a security vulnerability in the current environment per VMSA-2018-0019.1. As part of the same vulnerability, MiDesktop users should also update the Horizon View client to 4.8.1 or higher. Link to the client can be found at the MiDesktop downloads site.
