MACC 4th quarter maintenance has concluded. A bad trip unit in breaker UPS-A1 was identified. We had a spare breaker to get through the issue but a new trip unit is on ordered and we will need to replace it in an emergency window. There is no risk to floor.

Michigan Academic Computing Center (MACC) 4th Quarter Inspection and Preventative Maintenance (PM) Schedule, November 17, 2018, 7:00am to 4:00pm.

1.) GSI to process 4th quarter PM per written contract.

a. Visually inspect metal enclosed switchgear UMS1 for damage, overheating, or other signs of impending failure (must be done with equipment energized).
b. Perform a full function test, including a simulated power outage event transfer.
c. Perform a point-to-point ground system check.
d. Exercise and test main utility and generator breakers and duplex switches.
e. Exercise and test PDU transfer functions.
f. Examine property line switchgear.
g. Inspect all cable terminations and ground connections.
h. Provide report documenting preventive maintenance work and resultant findings.
i. Inspect heaters in switchgear UMS1 feeding HVSWD-1 and HVSBW-2 and duplex switches 1, 2 and 3.

2.) Cummins Bridgeway: Generator Inspection & Preventative Maintenance (PM); 3 Generator's. Estimated time to completion is 2 hrs.

a. One Generator PM at a time to ensure full Generator support throughout the maintenance.
b. We are simulating a complete DTE power outage to test back-up systems. Cummins to monitor generators and duplex gear to ensure proper transfer.
c. Assist GSI with exercising and testing main utility breakers, generator breakers and duplex switches.

3.) Power Plus in Conjunction with GSI. Oil Filtration of Transformers A and C. Estimated time to completion is 6 hrs.

a. In the last inspection, transformers "A" and "C" were tested for oil contamination in which rust was found in the oil and lower part of the transformer tank in both units. In addition to our normal quarterly maintenance Power Plus will be on-site to perform oil filtering. While one power source at a time will be unavailable when this service is being processed, the redundant power source and backup UPS.s, flywheels and generators will be in service at all times.

4.) Eaton Corporation: Uninterruptable Power System (UPS) Inspection; 6 UPS's. Estimated time to completion is 4 hrs.

a. One UPS PM at a time to ensure full UPS support throughout the maintenance. Estimated time to completion is 5 hrs. This will be coordinated closely with the other maintenance that is being performed.

Completion of 4th Quarter MACC PM. Next scheduled PM is February 16, 2019.
