Removal of network router at GG Brown

Services Affected: Removal of network router at GG Brown

Start Time: 05/03/2019 5:00 am

Maintenance Completed: 05/03/2019 7:31 am

Issue Symptoms: Outage

As of 7:30 am, all switches and networks have been migrated. We are still doing backend work, but all user-facing network services have been restored. If you're still experiencing issues, please contact local IT. CM.

During this window, we will be moving networking equipment from a router at GG Brown, and moving to a separate router within the same building. Due to various changes that must be made concurrently, network outages will be felt through GG Brown's East side, as well as shorter outages on GG Brown's West side. Wireless networking and VOIP (networked phones) will experience an outage on GG Brown's East side, but a much shorter outage on the West side as the networks are renamed and/or resized, as appropriate.

We will work to get the network up by 8 am, but reserve until 8:30 for troubleshooting purposes.

All switches were migrated from GG Brown East, East has been removed from service at this time.

We will migrate switches on d-GGBLE-1 to d-GGBLW-1, rename d-GGBLW-1 to d-GGBL-1, and remove the East DL. Subnet changes will impact West, and the actual moves will impact East networking. Some VLANs need to be resized, all will be renamed.
