WiFi controller software update

Services Affected: WiFi controller software update

Start Time: 06/19/2019 11:00 pm

Maintenance Completed: 06/20/2019 1:50 am

Issue Symptoms: Outage

On June 19, 2019, network staff from Information and Technology Services (ITS) will be updating the software that controls campus wireless access points (i.e., WiFi hardware). The work is being performed in two separate maintenance windows due to the large number of devices we support on the Ann Arbor campus.  This is the second maintenance window.

This maintenance will be performed at 11 p.m. connections to MWireless, eduroam, MGuest and MSetup will be unavailable during the scheduled maintenance. This work is expected to take about 60 minutes for each building, but could take longer for updates to propagate. This is a rolling upgrade; therefore, access points will likely experience one or more outages approximately 10 minutes in length.

The following list provides information about which buildings are scheduled to be updated on June 5, 2019, and which will be updated on June 19, 2019.
