Technical Details

Service Type: Production

Information Technology and Services (ITS) Network Engineering, Network Operations (UMNet), and Information Assurance (IA) staff will be further enhancing U-M's network border security. To enhance our network intrusion detection capabilities, we are deploying a network security monitoring system.

Two additional maintenance events are scheduled for the network border security enhancement project. The purpose of these maintenance events are to turn on network border security automation and mitigation. This is the second maintenance event on July 18th.

These network border security enhancements are expected to be transparent to the U-M community with no noticeable impact to services/systems and no disruption to network/internet connections. No actions on the part of the U-M community are necessary as part of this maintenance.

07/18/19 07:00 Maintenance was completed as planned.
