09-22-2019 @11:05 am  Inverter Bridge Board in UPS UPM-A1 has failed. The vendor will by-pass UPM-A1. They will also order a replacement, and hold off on doing by-pass maintenance on UPM A2 and UPM-A3 due to inverter issues. Replacement timeframe is mid to late October.

What we are doing: Eaton will be performing a complete battery resistant testing phase and will perform the annual preventative maintenance (PM) for the uninterruptible power system (UPS) and UPS battery string. Eaton will perform this on 1 (one) UPS at a time so the system as adequate backup in case of an event and is needed.

Why we are doing this: Annual maintenance allows us to see the longevity and life of the battery's. As well as the functionality of the UPS system.

Who will be impacted:  We anticipate no impact to any services running at Michigan Academic Computing Center. Eaton will perform the maintenance on 1 (one) UPS at a time to maintain adequate redundancy.
