09/29/2019 3:00 am  Unified power has completed annual maintenance, when they tried to transfer it out of maintenance bypass the UPS gave a error code that won't allow the unit to come out of by pass. They are working now to resolve the issue.

09/29/2019 2:00 am  Unified power is still in the preforming annual maintenance.

09/29/2019 12:30 am  Unified power is still in the preforming annual maintenance.

09/28/2019 11:00 pm Plant was has to PM generator and do monthly run test. Plant turned power off and the transfer switch did not transfer to the generator. After 3 minutes we restored power. I called Steve from Cummings to see if we were missing anything. After going through the transfer switch over the phone he said he would need to come out and look at it next week. We then let the batteries recharge and tried to transfer the load again. This time at the 2 min mark the load transferred, with the UPS having 8 minutes remaining of back up. Unified Power has started maintenance.

What we are doing: Unified Power will be performing a complete battery resistant testing phase and will perform the annual preventative maintenance (PM) for the APC uninterruptible power systems (UPS) and UPS battery string. While in service the UPS systems are inoperable.

Why we are doing this: Annual maintenance allows us to see the longevity and life of the battery's. As well as the functionality of the UPS system.

Who will be impacted:   In order of not jeopardize the compute floor equipment, the compute load will be manually transferred to the generator prior to the maintenance and will run on the generator throughout the entire PM. Generator certified /trained UM high voltage staff will be on site to monitor the generator throughout the entire PM time frame. All system will remain on generator during the entire maintenance. We anticipate no impact to any services running at Cooley (Cooley Mortimer E Building).
