Issue Symptoms: Intermittent issues

UMNet will be replacing an external battery power (UPS) at the Wolverine Tower on the 3rd Floor.


The activity performed will result in upgrading a critical device that provides uninterrupted power to the network in case a short power outage or surge occurs.

This will impact any wired & wireless networking technologies on the 3rd floor for faculty, staff and students, including but not limited to desktops, laptops, network phones, and printers.

It is recommended to have an alternative plan of working from a different floor/location during the planned AM maintenance window and/or forward your phone calls to another extension during the same period of time.


The maintenance is scheduled for Thu, Sep 17th between the hours of 5 am - 7 am. The actual work is expected to take less than 20 minutes however, the 2 hours maintenance window is reserved.

We will update this page once the new UPS is operational or at the end of the maintenance window.
